Nicola Gissing is an artist and photographer living and working in Bristol. Her photographic work explores the ephemeral beauty of the world around her seen in the textures, rich colours and interplay of light and shadow of a scrap metal still-life. The pieces are transient, the photograph being the only permanent record.
She has worked extensively with design agencies producing commissioned print illustration for major clients and large scale photographic artworks for interiors.
Nicola studied Graphic Art at Camberwell School of Art specialising in Printmaking. She then did a postgraduate course at Goldsmiths University where her interest in colour photography developed. She worked as a photographic illustrator for many years and was represented by Debut art, a top London agency. She went on to teach art at secondary level as well as pursuing her own work. Recently she completed an MA in multi disciplinary printmaking at Bristol University.
