About
David Burns
David Burns is a British ceramics artist known for his distinctive porcelain wall sculptures that blend form, texture, and subtle nuance.
His journey into ceramics began after joining a collective of artists at the Petr Weigl Studios in London, where he first began experimenting with slip casting techniques in porcelain. Immersed in the creative energy of the studio, David developed a deep appreciation for the material’s delicacy and potential for sculptural expression.
Over time, David honed a personal style marked by meticulous craftsmanship and an intuitive understanding of spatial composition. His work often explores themes of organic structure, stillness, and the interplay between light and surface.
Now based on the coast of West Sussex, David creates all his pieces from his home studio, where the natural landscape provides a continuing source of inspiration. His porcelain wall sculptures have been displayed in a number of high end offices across London including the well known Heron Tower in Liverpool Street. The Lunar pieces have gained recognition for their quiet elegance and thoughtful construction.
