About

Linda Khatri

Born in 1972, Linda Khatri is an American-born, London-based artist. She holds an BFA in Surface Pattern Design from Syracuse University and began her professional career in textile design within the fashion industry and interior design before transitioning her focus to painting and sculpture. Her background in these industries has significantly informed her artistic approach, particularly in relation to her use of bold pattern and composition.

Khatri’s practice explores the dynamic intersection of painting and sculpture while creating a compelling dialogue in spacial composition. She works with the goal of encouraging viewers to see painting differently, not just as something to look at, but to experience. Her subject matter navigates themes of religion, conflict and reincarnation; concepts she expresses through the interplay of bold, hard-edged forms and soft blending shapes of colour. Central to her practice is a sustained investigation of suppressed tension and unresolved conflict, which she approaches as a meditative process of renewal and rebirth.
