Vanessa Caroli

Vanessa, a self-taught abstract artist from Caracas, Venezuela, now resides in the UK and is deeply influenced by the nuances of everyday life. Her acrylic paintings, initiated with textures and marks using varied tools, evolve with layers of paint applied through both additive and subtractive methods. While she starts with a color palette in mind, the hues often shift during the creation process. Her spontaneous approach allows the canvas to guide the artwork's direction, resulting in pieces that evoke diverse interpretations. Inspired by the vibrant works of Venezuelan artist Cruz Diez, Vanessa embraced her artistic journey in 2019 and delved deeper into abstract art during the 2020 pandemic as a respite from global challenges.
