Emily Grant

Registrar & Administrator

Emily began her career in commercial art galleries and auction houses, starting in Old Masters before gradually exploring the many chapters of Art History that eventually led her to Contemporary Art. When she’s not immersed in the art world, she can usually be found wandering through London’s bookshops - with a particular love for antique and second-hand treasures.

One of the great motivators of art is to express the ever changing human experience.

My Inspirations

Old Bookshops

Think Adrian Harrington Rare Books or Country House Library. Vintage books with a lot of wear and tear tell me they’ve been loved. I’m currently collecting vintage editions of ‘Alice in Wonderland’.

Old Masters

Artemisia Gentileschi and Velasquez being particular favourites. The ‘Artemisia’ exhibition at the National Gallery was phenomenal as was the Velazques room at the Prado in Madrid, Spain.

Classical Music & Opera

Madama Butterfly, Eugine Onegin and Rachmaninoff’s Piano concerto No. 2.

Happy Place: the V&A

The Alexander McQueen ‘Savage Beauty’ and Dior ‘Designer of Dreams’ exhibitions are some of the best exhibitions I have ever seen.

Hong Kong

My home away from home and some of the best street food in the world. Where I learnt to play Mah Jongg, explored my roots and discovered the joys of Cantonese Opera (it’s an acquired taste).

The Globe Theatre

Do not ask me how many times I’ve seen ‘As You Like it’. I go every year, the atmosphere, the acting, the constant reinterpretation of Shakespeare's most famous works is always, always exciting and a joy to behold.
