Our second project for Clockwise saw us curating an elegant and simple curation of artwork for the new site opening in Exeter. The collection included limited edition prints, bespoke paintings, a tapestry and textured textile work.

Co Working to Cool Working

Clockwise co-working spaces have a very particular aesthetic. They are contemporary, cool, highly designed and modernist, with a hint of hipster. When we were given the brief for this second property, we were excited by the challenge; we knew we had to keep the artwork simple but impactful, trendy without ageing too quickly. We needed pieces that felt like part of the space's identity, not an addition to it. So every choice was made with that same eye Clockwise brings to everything else, contemporary, considered, genuinely cool. The result is art that reinforces exactly the vibe they're known for, rather than sitting apart from it.

Texture and Textiles

Zoning is a big part of how we approach a space like this. There are lots of small walls that define larger areas, and we knew we wanted to add texture to achieve this. Tapestry or textile artwork is brilliant for that; it adds personality to each wall because it's so 3D and interactive. Textile art is also having a real moment right now, so it reinforces exactly the cool, current feel Clockwise is known for. They're always at the pinnacle of the zeitgeist.
