Colliers are a company who own a lot of office space in the city, and it's important to them that all of the space is rented out, in order to make profits for their various investors, shareholders and pension funds. With this in mind, they asked us to provide some reception artwork for their building at 78 Leadenhall Street.
They wanted to create impact from the street, so that people looking through the windows said "wow, we want to work in that building". But they didn't want to put people off by providing anything that was too avant garde.
Colliers had a set budget for their monthly spend and with these restrictions in mind, we negotiated with their preferred artists to find a set of five paintings, two small and three extra large, to fill their reception walls. Our artist Caia Matheson has artworks which usually rent at the top end, but when she heard it was for a 12-month minimum contract she was happy for the pieces to be rented together to fit within Colliers' budget. It's good exposure for her after all!
Colliers are currently paying £500 per month
