- Brighton based artist Abigail Bowen is originally a graphic designer, and her careful use of colour and form is an obvious hint to her previous career. Having been a professional artist for just two years (although graduated from Chelsea college of Art in 1996) and since that pivotal moment Abigail has gone from strength to strength.
- Abigail returned to drawing and painting in 2014. Following 18 months hard graft in the life drawing room, she is now exploring semi abstraction through the local landscape and seafront at Brighton and most recently a more pure abstract approach which explores the devastating effect Alzheimers and dementia has had on her family. She is currently particularly influenced by Richard Diebenkorn, Franz Kline, Joan Eardley and Monet's Waterlillies.
